BIG WORDS r cool

Julio likes big words. here are some favorites and a testimonial:

defenistrate: Throw out the window.
loquacious: Very talkative
temerarious: Recklessly or presumptuously daring; rash
atavism: The reappearance in an organism of characteristics of some remote ancestor after several generations of absence; a throwback.
abattoir: A slaughterhouse.
concupiscence: Strong desire, especially sexual desire; lust.

  • As director of communications, I was asked to prepare a memo reviewing our company's training programs and materials. In the body of the memo one of the sentences I mentioned the "pedagogical approach" used by one of the training manuals. The day after I routed the memo to the executive committee, I was called into the HR director's office, and told that the executive vice president wanted me out of the building by lunch. When I asked why, I was told that she wouldn't stand for "perverts" (pedophilia?) working in her company. Finally, he showed me her copy of the memo, with her demand that I be fired - and the word "pedagogical" circled in red. The HR manager was fairly reasonable, and once he looked the word up in his dictionary and made a copy of the definition to send back to her, he told me not to worry. He would take care of it. Two days later, a memo to the entire staff came out directing us that no words which could not be found in the local Sunday newspaper could be used in company memos. A month later, I resigned. In accordance with company policy, I created my resignation memo by pasting words together from the Sunday paper. (Taco Bell Corporation)

Work on your lexicon people, it makes people think you are smart!

Hallllloooooweeeeennn!

Who loves dressing up and drinking and being foolish! Yes, that is me! Go Julio, Go Julio...

Halloween History per History Channel:

Halloween's origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-in).
The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom, and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future. For a people entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort and direction during the long, dark winter. To commemorate the event, Druids built huge sacred bonfires, where the people gathered to burn crops and animals as sacrifices to the Celtic deities.

I predict that I will get wasted and have embarrassing pics posted of me on my friend's blogs.

Julio is unsure how to handle a situation

Ok... so what do you do if a friend tells you they cant go out with you on your birthday for x, y, z ligitimate reason and how sorry they were that they couldnt go out, etc... and then you find out they went out late and had a great old time that night with the same people they always go out with?

Should I be mad or sad or just forget about it? I mean it is not like my birthday needs to be a big event, but it is hard to find out that someone felt they had to tell me one thing and do another. I am not friendship ending upset or anything, being the low maint girl I am, but I do feel a little disheartened.

This may seem a little passive aggressive to put this on a blog, but I really dont know how I am suppose to feel or whether I should tell that person that they hurt my feelings. Arg...
